We're throwing a party for Garden City this summer with our 2019 movie nights! Come join us!
Each summer, we gather in the back field to throw a party for Garden City in the form of movie nights! Our movies this year will be Napoleon Dynamite (June 28) and Spiderman: Into the Spider-Verse(August 2)! The field opens at 9pm with games and activities for the whole family, and make sure to grab some free concessions before the movie starts at dusk!

There's times when, as Christians, we're attentive to God's voice. We're humble before him -- we're soft. And there's other times where we've allowed sin to harden our heart, and we're caught up in a reaction we can't see. In God's mercy, he will send us someone. If we're not a fool -- if we'll receive the feedback, the wounds of a friend -- then we can grow. And maybe we can get out of the cycle of violence, so that our lives are not spent hurting other people -- but actually helping others. At our core, that's what we're made for. There's a pretty profound difference between peace keeping and peace making. Peace keepers will keep their mouths shut. They will compromise. They don't want to rock the boat. But we are called to be peace makers. Peace makers speak simply, directly, truthfully, to the evil we see in the world. We are called to be peace makers, in what is still a broken culture. This is still our story -- we still live in the "now" and the "not yet." Like Jesus, you might sense this desire to step outside the power structures of the predominant culture -- and to live a life of devastating sincerity. Devastating to the powers of sin and darkness. Devastating, because they are rooted in the life of Jesus and His Kingdom come. In this place where there is evil and darkness, we are called to be peace makers.
